Terms of use
These terms apply when you create an account, sign in, or use the public pages of Jop Scholar.
Last updated 11 October 2026.
The service
Jop Scholar provides a browser workspace for courses, attendance, computer-based tests, assignments, materials, messages and results. An individual lecturer can create an account and open a workspace. Institution-wide arrangements are agreed separately and are not created by these terms alone.
Accounts
You must give a real name and an email address you can open. Keep your password private. A student signs in with the email or matric number on that student account. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us it is being used without permission.
Acceptable use
- Use the workspace for teaching, learning and academic administration.
- Do not attempt to open another lecturer's students, scores or files.
- Do not upload unlawful material, or material you do not have permission to share.
- Do not interfere with the service, other accounts, or an exam in progress.
Academic records
Scores, attendance and submitted answers stay with the session and semester in which they were recorded. Closing a semester does not delete that record. Jop Scholar displays the totals produced from the grade setup on the course. The lecturer or institution remains responsible for the academic decision those records support.
Availability
We work to keep the site available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, a failed sign-in, or a network fault can interrupt a session. A computer-based test follows the timer and the submission rules shown on the paper.
Ending use
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other accounts at risk. Suspension does not by itself delete an academic record that an institution still needs.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The privacy policy describes how personal data is handled and forms part of the agreement between you and Jop Scholar.
